Kinetika Bloco
Kinetika Bloco is delighted to be partnering with Lightbulb Trust to continue the important work for young people in the Tulse Hill area of Lambeth. Kinetika Bloco is a youth music charity working with young people in South London from ages 8 – 25 years old. We use music in the form of drumming, brass, steel pan and dance to engage young people in long term creative engagement enhancing their practical skills as well as helping them develop socially and build a positive network of friends. Our leadership programme ensures that the team running the projects come from the same backgrounds and areas as the young people we are working with, making them inspirational and relatable role models.
The Lightbulb Trust will be supporting our junior programme of After School club sessions on Tulse Hill Estate for up to 50 young people weekly in drumming, brass and steel pan for 7-18 year olds, and our Junior Summer School of 150 young people aged 8-13 years old. These programmes are where many of our young people begin their journey with us getting an exciting welcome into the joy of music. From these sessions young people go on to stay engaged and begin a progression pathway which can see them become professional musicians or teachers or just generally embrace creative skills that help them in any career path they choose.
