Shuen worked closely with Salome and Ben to establish The Lightbulb Trust. Having spent her career mobilising institutional capital and building investment capability, she was drawn to the Trust’s conviction that literacy and learning are the foundation of self-determination. Shuen brings an investment and governance perspective to the Trust’s grant-making and social investment work, with a particular interest in how patient capital and strong organisational partnerships can help promising initiatives scale their reach and deepen their impact.
With more than 30 years’ international experience across investment management, private markets, sustainable finance and capital markets, Shuen most recently served as Head of Responsible Investment & Sustainability for Private Markets at L&G Asset Management, where she built and led the specialist team and sustainable investment capability across real estate, infrastructure, private credit and venture capital.
Shuen currently serves on the board of the Better Buildings Partnership and has contributed to global industry practice through the CFA Institute’s Sustainable Investing Advisory Panel, including as co-author of its sustainable investing certification for investment practitioners globally.
