Element Project
Element’s mission is to produce projects where young people develop their creative identities and are recognised as individuals with purpose and potential.
Element supports care-experienced young people, refugees, migrants, and at-risk school students to increase their self-confidence, learn new creative skills and expand their networks and friendships. Their creative projects use visual art, performance and writing to encourage participants to explore aspects of their identity. At the end of each project, participants celebrate their work at a showcase. Element has exhibited at the Tate, Saatchi, V&A, Wallace Collection, Soho Theatre and Whitechapel Gallery. They are concerned with the lack of access and opportunities for marginalized groups of young people and actively seek to disrupt the way in which traditional arts institutions engage communities. They do this by collaborative and partnership working with such institutions.
The Lightbulb Trust is supporting Element as part of the Greenlight Project initiative to achieve their ambitious 3-year strategy by enabling them to grow their impact, position themselves and expand their service offer.
