Sulgrave Club
The Sulgrave Club is an important and popular youth centre in Hammersmith & Fulham that has been providing successful youth services for low-income families for almost 100 years. Our aim is to help children and young people reach their full potential by providing them with a secure, comfortable, and safe place to meet; a wide range of stimulating activities and outings to experience and enjoy; and a space where they can freely express their views and opinions and be themselves.
Children and young people choose to come to The Sulgrave Club. Once here, they can choose how they want to participate. In our Junior Club, it is as simple as deciding which game they want to play, what art they want to create, what food they want to cook. As they grow older, however, it becomes much more about taking responsibility, challenging themselves, finding out what they are capable of, finding out what it is they really want to do.
Be it the friendships, the activities, the opportunities to learn and grow, the cooking classes, the mental health workshops, the social action projects, or the youth achievement awards, children and young people who come to the Sulgrave regard the Club as their ‘Sulgrave family’ – the place where they get the support they need to safely grow from childhood through adolescence into adulthood.
The Lightbulb Trust is supporting The Sulgrave Club with core funding for premises costs, so ensuring the Club can continue to provide a safe, secure, and warm place where children and young people can be helped, can help themselves, and can help each other to realise their full potential.
