Latymer Foundation
The Latymer Foundation was established in 1624 ‘to clothe and educate eight poore boyes’ in Hammersmith. It remains true to the vision of its founder Edward Latymer to this day, offering a world class education to bright young people from all backgrounds. It is well known for its extensive bursary provision and by 2024, the Foundation’s 400th anniversary, Latymer aims for 1 in 4 of students in the School to be bursary holders, making it one of the most socially inclusive schools in the country.
Latymer is also well known and well regarded for its extensive array of ‘outreach’ programmes and events which reflect its strong social ethos. The Foundation is committed to being a good neighbour in the community, sharing opportunities, experiences and resources with local students and charities. To realise its ambition to tackle the disadvantage gap for local children and families, the Foundation has established successful partnerships with nearly 250 local schools, charities and community groups benefitting over 2,000 local children each year. The Latymer Foundation and the Lightbulb Trust are working together to forge links with grassroots organisations and build partnerships that benefit the community.
