Earls Court Youth Club
Earls Court Youth Club (ECYC) is committed to delivering inspiring projects, engaging activities and programmes that help support and motivate local young people between the ages of 9-19 years and up to the age of 25 years for young people with special education needs or disabilities. Our primary focus is Youth Work, a distinct educational process adapted across a variety of activities designed to support a young person’s personal, social and educational development.
At ECYC our focus has always been young people centred – all our activities are co-created with our children and young people and there is an emphasis on distance travelled. The latest project championed by our members and made possible by the support of the Lightbulb Trust is a dedicated Study Support Programme offered three nights a week (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6pm – 9pm) at the centre, aiming to support at least 100 disadvantaged local young people to secure better grades in order to access high quality jobs, academic studies and apprenticeship opportunities, as well as build vital soft skills.
ECYC works with skilled and experienced tutors, many of whom are local people or ECYC alumni’s, who have achieved top academic results themselves and now want to give back to support the local community. They are excellent role models.
The study programme is supplemented by the additional opportunities provided by ECYC, including opportunities to participate in sport and the arts, mentoring and provision of healthy, home cooked meals at every session.
